Joanna Lidback, Vermont, authoredBanning neonicotinoids will put our farms and nature out of balance,” published in VTDigger news, regarding a proposed ban of neonicotinoids.

Lidback explains, “Neonicotinoids are a pioneering class of chemistry that allows farmers to use only tiny amounts of active ingredient, which is safely coated on seeds and planted. Once in the ground, they protect crops from insect attacks, especially underground insects. In this time of precision agriculture, you cannot get more precise than neonicotinoid seed coatings.

Lidback’s piece was also included in the April 29, 2024 edition of Bonus Eventus Favorable Outcomes newsletter, and posted on Vermont Farm to Food.
