Details are being finalized forPagpapakilos sa GFN bilang Suporta sa Matatag na Agri-Food System” ang Pebrero 5-11 roundtable and communication training program to be held in Buenos Aires, Arhentina. The group will also travel to Rosario, visiting farms and ag businesses along the way.

At the event, emphasis and key is ‘mobilization’ – the action word that drives who we are and why Global Farmer Network (GFN) members will come to Argentina. Training is an available track but the emphasis is on the knowledge transfer of GFN members through listening, panels, and agri-business tours.

The vision and goal is to bring together and connect GFN membership to share their recent challenges and opportunities experienced, to identify commonalities, and determine a unifying, common message that recognizes agriculture’s role in attaining food security as part of the solution to the main challenges faced by humanity.
  • Showcasing the diversity of GFN membership, farmer-members are traveling from these countries to connect, share and mobilize: Arhentina, Brazil, Canada, Kolombya, Republika ng Tsek, Denmark, Alemanya, Honduras, India, Ireland, Italya, Mehiko, Olanda, Niyusiland, Nigerya, Pilipinas, Poland, Puerto Rico, Ukraina, Estados Unidos, Urugway, and more as visas are approved.
  • Kasabay nito, a new cohort of farmers will join in stimulating roundtable discussion and take part in communication training. GFN is welcoming farmers from: Canada, Italya, Hapon, Mehiko, Nigerya, Pilipinas, Puerto Rico, UAE, United States and more as visas are approved.

Maria 'Pilu' Giraudo is a mom and 5th generation farmer who with her family utilizes a no-till system to grow soy, trigo, barley, mais at batad, gayundin ang mga alagang hayop sa Santa Fe Province, Arhentina. Sinanay bilang isang Agricultural Engineer, Si Pilu ay ang Honorary President ng Aapresid (Samahang Walang Hanggang Magsasaka ng Argentina) at isang miyembro ng Global Farmer Network Advisory Committe, nagsisilbing Pananalapi & Katuwang na tagapangulo ng Komite sa Pagpapaunlad. Aktibo siyang nakikilahok sa ilang pambansa at internasyonal na NGO na nakatuon sa napapanatiling mga hakbangin sa agrikultura at adbokasiya.. Kasama sa kanyang adbokasiya ang isang lingguhang programa sa radyo, hino-host ng mga kababaihan sa kanayunan, na nagbabahagi ng mga kuwento mula sa kanilang mga sakahan at buhay tuwing Sabado. Nagtrabaho si Pilu ng dalawang taon bilang suporta sa Mga Patakaran sa Sustainable Development para sa Ministry of AgroIndustry sa Argentina at sa 2016 ay kinilala bilang Global Farmer Network Kleckner Award recipient.
