Two members of the Global Farmer Network—Kees Huizinga, Ukraine and Marcus Holtkoetter, Ð“ÐµÑ€Ð¼Ð°Ð½Ð¸Ñ—met in DÃ¼sseldorf to explain the plight of Ukrainian farmers to members of the German Parliament. Their message:Â food security is being reduced as consequences of the war in Ukraine; Farmers need decisions now so crops can be planted.

Kornelis 'Kees' Huizinga has farmed in central Ukraine for 20 Ð¶Ñ‹Ð», growing onions, carrots, Ð¸Ð¼Ð¿ÑƒÐ»ÑŒÑÑ‚Ð°Ñ€Ð´Ñ‹ ÐºÐµÑ€ÐµÐºÑ‚Ó©Ó© Ð´Ð° Ó©Ñ‚Ó© Ð¶Ð¾Ð³Ð¾Ñ€Ñƒ, Ð°Ñ€Ð¿Ð°, ÐºÐ°Ð½Ð¾Ð»Ð°, sugar beet, Ð´Ð°Ð½, sunflowers and navy beans. They also have a modern dairy farm. Kees is a member of the Global Farmer Network. -Ð¶Ñ‹Ð»Ñ‹ 2022, Kees received the GFN Kleckner Global Farm Leader Award.
