Motlatsi Musi is a farmer from South Africa who has enjoyed being able to use GM technology to fight pests. GM crops have increased his profitability, which allowed him to send his children to school and receive an education.

×”×¢×¨. Motlatsi Musi grows maize, beans, ×¤Ö¼×Ö·×˜×™×™×˜×Ö¸×•×–, breeding pigs and cows on 21 hectares he acquired in 2004 through the Land Redistribution for Agricultural Development Program (LRAD) in South Africa. He was recognized Oct 17 in Des Moines, Iowa as the 2017 Kleckner Award recipient.
