Two members of the Global Farmer Network—Kees Huizinga, Ukraine and Marcus Holtkoetter, ÃžÃ½skaland—met in DÃ¼sseldorf to explain the plight of Ukrainian farmers to members of the German Parliament. Their message:Â food security is being reduced as consequences of the war in Ukraine; Farmers need decisions now so crops can be planted.

Kornelis Kees Huizinga

Kornelis 'Kees' Huizinga has farmed in central Ukraine for 20 Ã¡r, growing onions, carrots, hveiti, Bygg, kanÃ³la, sugar beet, korn, sunflowers and navy beans. They also have a modern dairy farm. Kees is a member of the Global Farmer Network. Ã 2022, Kees received the GFN Kleckner Global Farm Leader Award.
