Bay-Smidt shares farmer’s views for Future-proofing soils

Global Farmer Network member Knud Bay-Smidt, Denmark was a participant in the International Fertilizer Association’s (IFA) official side-event to CFS-50 (Committee on World Food Security): “Future-proofing soils: the role of youth and actionable data for nature-positive food systems,” hosted by the government of Thailand.

Si Knud ay lumaki sa isang ika-4 na henerasyon ng pamilya. Pagkatapos ng kolehiyo, sinimulan niya ang sarili niyang bukirin noong 1987 na kung saan ay isang dalisay na sakahan, batay sa isang No-Till system. Lumalaki siya ng trigo, barley, langis at langis rape. Mula sa 1990-2010, binili niya at ini-export ng makinarya sa 12 bansa sa Europa, Africa, Timog-silangang Asya at gitnang Silangan.
