The 2018 Global Farmer Roundtable is scheduled for Oct 16-17 in Des Moines, Iowa – coinciding with the week of the World Food Prize Borlaug Dialogue and International Symposium. 

As the Roundtable approaches GFN is introducing this year’s participants.  So let’s get to know a little bit about Rodney Kili who farms in western Kenya… 

 

Name:  Rodney Kili

Country:  Kenya

Farm Name:  Komool Farms, 1000 acres near Eldoret, Uasin-Gishu County

Activity:  We grow malting barley, commercial maize – of which we also go the extra mile by doing value addition to it through milling and process maize flour for sale.  We also grow wheat, sunflower and a little canola too.

We do some dairy farming (25 lactating cows) on a small scale which we are still expanding.

Rodney Kili is a second-generation farmer, growing maize, malting barley, wheat, sunflower and canola with minimum tillage and GPS in Uasin Gishu County, Kenya. They use minimum tillage and GPS. They have 25 dairy cows and are working to expand that business.
