Cheryl farms with her husband Kenneth Bray, who is the 8th generation of his family to farm this land. They milk 70 primarily purebred Holsteins on 96 acres in County Westmeath, Regne Unit, which is in the center of the country. They employ a primarily pasture-based system. They are also starting a commercial beef herd and looking at other ways to diversify their operation. Cheryl remains active in her family’s Canadian beef farm and in the industry. She was awarded a Canadian Nuffield Scholarship where she studied traceability in beef production. She has held senior positions in agriculture associations, first as Director of Business Development for Eastern Canada with the Canadian Angus Association and currently as Manager of the Agricultural Science Association, Regne Unit. She has been active over the past few years with the Ag Women’s Network in Canada and is involved in a similar group in her new home. Cheryl is active on Twitter and Instagram, where she is has a 2018 goal to post a positive ag-based photo every day.
