The board of directors of the Global Farmer Network is growing with the addition of farmer members from Argentina, Canadà, India and New Zealand.
Roberto Peiretti is a fourth-generation farmer, a trained agronomist, and a tireless global advocate for no-till technology. We first met Roberto at the 2010 Camperol Taula rodona global. On his farm in Cordoba Province in central Argentina, he and the family’s fifth-generation farmers grow corn, soja, blat, l'ordi, civada, sorghum and sunflowers on 8,000 hectàrees. Roberto was a founding member of AAPRESID, Argentí No fins a l'Associació de pagesos.
Cherilyn Nagel farms with her husband and family in Saskatchewan, where she has been noted as one of the province’s Most Influential Women. She trains other farmers on ways to share their stories. She was a member of the 2008 Camperol Taula rodona global. The farm produces durum wheat, cigrons, canola and lentils.
V. Ravichandran is a third-generation farmer in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. He has been farming for over 30 years and is a strong proponent of technology in agriculture. He grows paddy, canya de sucre, cotó, pulses and small grains. Ravi was a member of the Roundtable in 2010 i una altra vegada en 2013 when he was recognized as the Kleckner Award winner.
Craige Mackenzie is an innovative dairy and cropping farmer from Methven, Nova Zelanda. He and his daughter started a precision agriculture company to help other farmers increase farm efficiencies. He was a Roundtable member in 2012 i 2014. The farm, Greenvale Pastures, is an intensive irrigated cropping operation of specialty seed crops, wheat and rye grass. The dairy farm milks 1050 vaques.
With the addition of these four board members, the GFN seeks to step up its global engagement in telling the stories of the world’s farmers and making sure those farmers are involved in the discussions about food security, tot el món.
The organization, founded in the year 2000 as Truth About Trade and Technology, changed its name in January of 2016 to better reflect the mission and makeup of the organization. The group’s goal is to insert the farmer’s voice into the global food conversation, advocating for the use of technology and free trade.

We’ve identified these farmers as people who are already engaged globally in moving agriculture forward by speaking up to affect change.
