Jorge Bianciotto

Jorge farms in Argentina, mainly in the Buenos Aires province, but also a little in the Cordoba and La Pampa provinces. He’s involved in a family farming operation that has been no-till since 1994 with a crop rotation that grows 14 different crops on 4,500 hectares. Some of the farmland is owned and some is leased. He works to have the soil evergreen with good agricultural practices. The farm’s goal is to reduce the use of external inputs.

The operation produces corn for seed companies and also raises forage grasses, both of those crops under irrigation. The other crops produced on dry land include barley, wheat, peas, canola, corn and soybeans. In addition to crops, the farm raises some cattle and polo horses. Jorge likes to welcome international visitors to see his farm.

He firmly believes in networking and learning from others. Jorge is a member of AAPRESID and CREA and is on the board of Sociedad Rural de Pergamino.
