The 2018 Global Farmer Roundtable is scheduled for Oct 16-17 in Des Moines, Iowa – coinciding with the week of the World Food Prize Borlaug Dialogue and International Symposium.

As the Roundtable approaches GFN is introducing this year’s participants, so let’s check in with Edgard Ramirez from Argentina

Farmer:    Edgard Ramirez

Edgard Ramirez is representing Argentina at the 2018 GFR.

Country:  Argentina

Where is your farm located?

Our family farm is near La Carlota, a small city located 260 kms south of Córdoba city, in Cordoba Province.

What does your farm look like? What is the size of your farm? What do you grow or raise?

Our farm covers 275 hectares [680 acres] where we plant soybean and corn in the 50% rotation plan. Some years, when the autumn weather lets us, we plant wheat. In that case, we have 33% of the area with wheat/soybean, 33% with corn and 33% with soybean.

What are you looking forward to most as you prepare to participate in the 2018 Global Farmer Roundtable?

I´d like to learn, exchange knowledge and share experiences with farmers of all over the world.
